While Bohol reeled from nonstop rains brought by Tropical Depression Verbena, a separate tragedy struck when a fire gutted four houses early Tuesday, Nov. 25.
The blaze erupted around 3 a.m. at Purok 4, Gasanai Village, Barangay Cogon, according to FO3 Dominic De Castro of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Tagbilaran City.
The fire reportedly started in the home of Hilda Dango, with initial investigations pointing to a charging laptop as the possible cause.
“Unfortunately, naugdaw,” De Castro said in a radio interview.
Firefighters were able to declare the fire under control at 4:13 a.m. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
The estimated damage reached P480,000.
