Seven most wanted arrested in one day as PNP Bohol intensifies anti-crime campaign

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — In a major breakthrough against criminality, the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) successfully arrested seven wanted individuals in a series of coordinated operations conducted across the province on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

The operations, conducted within a single day, were part of BPPO’s intensified drive to track down and apprehend law offenders who have long evaded arrest. Provincial Director Police Colonel Patricio Degay Jr. commended the efforts of the local police units, saying the successful arrests reflect the police force’s dedication to enforcing the law and maintaining peace and order in Bohol.

In Jagna, police personnel led by Captain Winston Magdadaro, chief of police, served a warrant of arrest on a 37-year-old male detainee of the Bohol District Jail at around 9:30 a.m. The warrant, issued by Samuel Bilaran, presiding judge of RTC Branch 50 in Loay, was for the crime of “Other Acts of Child Abuse” (Criminal Case No. 5306).

In Danao, at 10 a.m., police operatives under Lt. Edwin Joseph S. Silagan arrested a 44-year-old farmer by virtue of a warrant issued by Avelino Puracan, presiding judge of the 18th MCTC, Dagohoy–Danao, for “Direct Assault Upon a Person in Authority” (Criminal Case No. 946).

In Mabini, at around 10:20 a.m., the Municipal Police Station headed by Captain Joseph Macalos arrested a 51-year-old barangay kagawad based on two warrants of arrest issued by acting presiding Judge Panfilo Sala Jr. of RTC Branch 51, Carmen, for violations of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (Criminal Case Nos. 5229 and 5230).

In Inabanga, at about 11:15 a.m., police operatives under Captain Albert R. Sator arrested a 34-year-old resident of Cuaming, Inabanga, pursuant to a warrant issued by Mildred R. Maglajos, presiding judge of MCTC Inabanga–Buenavista, for “Slight Physical Injuries” (Criminal Case No. MCTC-I-2817).

In Bilar, at 12:58 p.m., authorities led by Captain Johnrey Digao arrested a 36-year-old resident of Libertad, Baclayon, on the strength of a warrant issued by Simeon P. Dumdum Jr., presiding judge of RTC Branch 7, Cebu City (Criminal Case No. CBU-95220).

In Dauis, at 2:10 p.m., police personnel under Captain Dennis Seragon arrested a 51-year-old resident of Mariveles, Dauis, for violation of RA 9262. The warrant was issued by acting presiding Judge Samson Ariel C. Cayetuna of RTC Branch 3, Tagbilaran City (Criminal Case No. 30893).

In Getafe, at around 5:30 p.m., the Getafe Municipal Police Station under Captain Joy Dawa served a warrant of arrest on a 44-year-old resident of Barangay Saguise, Getafe. The warrant, issued by acting presiding Judge Azucena C. Macalolot-Credo of RTC Talibon, was for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 or the Anti-Gambling Law (Criminal Case No. 15-3616).

Degay lauded the local police units for their swift and coordinated actions that led to the simultaneous arrests.

“These operations are not only about making arrests — they are proof that justice is working,” Degay said. “Under my leadership, the PNP Bohol will continue to locate and apprehend wanted criminals so they can face the courts. To those who think they can evade justice — we will find you, arrest you, and turn you over to the law. We do this for the victims, for the rule of law, and for the peace of our communities.”

All arrested individuals are now in police custody and will be turned over to the proper courts for legal disposition. The BPPO reiterated its commitment to pursuing all wanted persons in the province as part of its continuing effort to ensure public safety and uphold justice in Bohol.
