Gov. Aris Aumentado has ordered the setting up of a helpline for Boholanos with families whose members are in war-torn Israel.
The provincial government through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office – Public Employment Service Office (BEPO-PESO) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) have set up a contact center to make contact convenient between Boholanos caught in the Israel-Gaza war and their worried families at home.
The contact center can be reached through 0985-119-4206.
Aumentado ordered close monitoring of the situation of Boholanos in Israel after its government declared war against the Palestinian militant group Hamas that carried out the worst attack in Israel on Oct. 7.
BEPO-PESO was institutionalized to facilitate concerns of Boholano workers, including overseas workers. OWWA later on set up a satellite office for close coordination specially with the great number of Boholanos working across the globe. (PIMO/LMS)
