Held at the Ceremonial Hall of the New Capitol Building, the activity was conducted by the Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office (PHRMDO) in partnership with the Provincial Health Office.
The activity was aimed at raising awareness among employees in identifying and managing stressors that affect their well-being and work performance.
Participants were oriented on what anxiety is, mental health, stress management and coping, and self-care techniques and resiliency by mental health advocates and experts Jeanine Valerie Borromeo, Dr. Fruserma Mary Uy, Mirriam Pearl Arao-arao, and Abigail Ayuban.
The seminar was attended by employees from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, the Center for Culture and Arts Development, the Bohol Provincial Tourism Office, the Bohol Employment and Placement Office- Public Employment Service Office, and the Bohol Information and Communication Technology Office.
PHRDMO said this is the first it has conducted for employees, with more seminars to be attended by other PGBh departments and attached offices.
Since 1992, World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year initiated by the World Federation for Mental Health.
The annual observance aims to create awareness and advocacy against social stigma surrounding mental health.
For 2023, the celebration focuses on the theme, “Mental health is a universal human right,” as it acknowledges the impact of mental well-being on their education, employment, and social interaction with other people.
It stresses the importance of people having proper healthcare access if they are undergoing mental stress or disorders. (PIMO/GMC)
