Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo has condemned the murder of Councilor Danilo AƱora who was shot by a still unidentified assailant on Friday early morning.
“It is with a heavy heart and profound sorrow that I condemn the tragic and senseless shooting that claimed the life of Councilor Danilo AƱora. It is with great sadness that I inform you of this devastating incident that has left our community in shock and mourning, ” said Duallo in a statement.
He said AƱora was not just a dedicated public servant, but he was also a cherished member of the Buenavista family.
” His loss is not only a personal tragedy for his family but also a tremendous loss for our entire community. Danilo Anora’s legacy of service and his passion for improving the lives of our residents will forever be remembered and honored,” said Duallo, also the president of the League of the Municipalities of Philippines (LMP) – Bohol chapter.
He also assured the people of Buenavista that they fully cooperating with the authorities to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.
” Justice will be pursued, and those responsible for this heinous act will be held accountable. During these difficult times, let us come together as one Buenavista community, offering our support and condolences to Councilor Anora’s family. We must remember the values he upheld and continue his work towards the progress and development of our beloved municipality, ” said Duallo.
” In his memory, I encourage each and every one of you to redouble your efforts to make Buenavista a safer, more prosperous, and united community. Let us not be deterred by this tragedy but instead use it as a catalyst for positive change,” said Duallo.
In an initial investigation, AƱora was driving his motorcycle at past 12 a. m. from a derby when the perpetrators shot him in the head along the national highway in Cangawa National High School.
He was brought to Francisco Dagohoy Hospital in Inabanga town but he was declared dead on arrival.
