Drag artist Amadeus Fernando Pagente, also known as Pura Luka Vega, was arrested Wednesday afternoon, October 4, 2023, for immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions, and indecent shows.
The drag artist was arrested in their home in Sta. Cruz, Manila and brought to the Manila Police District Station 3, Manila Police District Spokesperson Philipp Ines confirmed.
They has been criticized for his controversial drag performance of “Ama Namin.”
He was sued by a group of Christian leaders on July 31 after they deemed them to be in violation of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code.
Several cities.including Bohol declared Pura Luka Vega as “persona non grata.”
