Raineria Berro Calipusan from Duero town underwent heart surgery last May to replace her mitral valve.
The 39-year-old from Barangay Duay said she was feeling much better and is expected to completely recover.
Mitral valve repair is a surgery to repair a mitral valve that isn’t working properly due to valvular heart disease.
Calipusan is one of many patients from Bohol who had a successful heart surgery thru the help of 2nd dist. Rep. Vanessa Cadorna-Aumentado.
Calipusan received P450,000.00 amount of assistance from Aumentado thru Guarantee Letter.
“Usa lamang kini sa mga pasyente nga atong natabangan nga gi operahan sa kasing-kasing. Sa ilang pagpasalamat, usa sa akong nasulti, dili ni akong kwarta kundi kwarta kini sa Gobyerno, buwis sa mga katawhan so angay gyud tabangan ang nagkinahanglan. Gihimo lang ko nga instrumento para mapabati ninyo nga dunay Gobyernong nagpakabana,” said Aumentado on her Facebook post.
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) – or diseases of the heart and blood vessels – are responsible for a third of death in the Philippines.
According to the Philippine Statistics Office (PSA), CVDs are part of the larger group of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), which account for 72 percent of deaths in the country in 2021.
Aumentado increased the allocation of funds for medical assistance or hospitalization for the second district. However, patients from other districts can also avail of the assistance.
“Mao man gani nga ang inyong Kongresista, usa sa gipakadak-an ang pag allocate ug pondo para sa medical assistance or hospitalization dinhi sa Bohol ug outside Bohol,” she said.
If in case anyone needs a heart or kidney operation, there are funds at the Philippine Heart Center and the National Kidney Institute in Manila.
For inquiries, you may contact Aumentado’s Manila Staff Marlon Gianan Balmadrid if the patient is in Manila.
If in Bohol, you may visit Aumentado’s Office at the New Capitol Ground floor, Tagb. City and look for Richel.
