At least 12 super health centers will soon establish in several towns of Bohol in a bid to hasten and improve the delivery of medical and health services to the residents.

Senator Bong Go personally attended the ground breakings of SHCs in Ubay and Talibon towns on Thursday, April 27.

He said he was personally invited by 2nd district Rep. Vanessa Aumentado.

Go said the towns of Buenavista, Dauis, Talibon, Sagbayan and Candijay will have the super health center, which is a health facility smaller than the hospital that will offer medical services, such as birthing and other minor cases for outpatients.

The health facility offers database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray and ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit.

The one-storey health centers in Barangay Camambugan in Ubay town and Barangay San Vicente in Talibon town will cost around PHP10 to PHP15 million each with funds from the Department of Health (DOH).

The local government units (LGUs) provided the lot and manpower as their counterparts.

The DOH will also provide technical support and manpower augmentation. patients seeking medical assistance at the super health center could also avail of the universal healthcare program or have a zero-balance billing upon their discharge. 

Go, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, visited Barangay Camambugan in Ubay town and Barangay San Vicente in Talibon town to lead the groundbreaking rites.

In Ubay, Mayor Constantino Reyes, Vice Mayor Victor Bonghanoy and Councilor Violeta Reyes and IC Besas, and barangay captains also attended the ceremony.

Go also visited the Malasakit Center at Don Emilio Del Valle Memorial Hospital, the 88th Malasakit Center in the country. He wasn’t able to personally attend the launching ceremlny in Oct. 2019.

Gov. Aris Aumentado, Vice Gov. Victor Balite and Talibon Mayor Janette Garcia attended the ground breaking ceremony in Talibon town.

Some mayors also attended the ceremonies.
