Former Alburquerque Mayor Efren Dumagan Tungol passed away on Saturday morning, his family confirmed. He was 75.

Tungol, an engineer, became mayor of Alburquerque from July 1, 1998 to June 30, 2007 then July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2016 for a total of 15 years.

He is survived by his children Eireen Ruth (married to Mike Sauce), Ephraim (married to Maria Elena Herrera) and Elpren Charles Bobec Tungol; brothers Fr. Eugene Tungol, Pastor of the Church of the Epiphany in San Francisco, California and Renato Tungol Law, also former mayor of Alburquerque now an Immigration Lawyer in Chicago, married to Virgel Lamdagan Gel-Net Lamdagan Tungol and their children Atty Kristine Tungol Cabagnot and Donald Arjay Cabagnot, Karlos and Kristian Tungol.

The Requiem mass is on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10 a. m. at the Sta Monica Parish Church in Alburquerque, Bohol followed by the interment at the Alburquerque Municipal Cemetery.

Wake masses are scheduled at 7pm.
