“Special One” Nontshinga defended his title against Regie “Filipino Phenom” Suganob of PMI Bohol Boxing Stable at the International Convention Centre in East London in South Africa on Sunday, July 2 (Monday, July 3 in Philippines).
Nontshinga delivered a technically superior display against Suganob to retain his IBF junior-flyweight title on points.
Nontshinga was in control throughout the bout, skirting the edge of the ring. However, his slippery counter-punching strategy was effective against Suganob.
The three judges scored it for Nontshinga 116-111, 116-111 and 117-110.
Bohol’s Suganob pressed the attack throughout, however, Nontshinga had better exchanges.
