The public should expect higher prices of red onions at the markets in Tagbilaran City as the retail price of red onion has surged to P550 a kilo.
As of Dec. 28, majority of public markets are selling red onions for P380-P500 per kilo.
At Dao Public Market, the most expensive is at P550 per kilo.
Some stalls sell red onions for P380 and P450 per kilo. However, the bulbs are of poor quality.
At Dagohoy and Cogon public markets, only a few stalls sell red onions at P380 – P450.
