7 injured as Clarin Bridge in Loay collapses

A bridge in Loay town collapsed on Wednesday afternoon, April 27, injuring seven persons and causing vehicles to fell into the river.

Loay, Bohol Mayor Atty. Hilario Ayuban Jr confrmed that Clarin Bridhe collapsed.

According to Philippine Coast Guard Western Bohol Station Lt. Jg. Edzel Gonzaga, at least 7 people have been rescued by the combined forces of the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, Loay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and residents.

Authorities have not yet determined how many vehicles fell into the 7-8 meter depth of the river near the sea.

Gonzaga said rescue operations will be difficult because the river is muddy. PCG Western Bohol Station received the alarm at 4:10 pm, Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
