Boxing trainer and college instructor
Glenn Oleverio Sasing has died, Powcast Sports confirmed on Saturday.
“Condolence po to the family of one of the best boxing trainers from bohol sir Glenn Sasing. Hindi ako makapaniwala na wala ka na sir,” sports online news Powcast posted on Facebook Saturday.
Members of the boxing community and his students have posted their tributes on social media.
No cause of death was released, but unverified reports said Sasing collapsed during a training.
Sasing, 44, was sports coordinator of Philippine Maritime Institute (PMI) Colleges- Bohol. He was also involved in “Kumong Bol-anon”.
He initiated the PMI Bohol Boxing Stable where he trained Suganob brothers-Rodel and Regie, Jhunrielle Castino, Jason Dogelio, among others.

Sasing’s crowning achievements as a trainer were the Sugabob brothers- Regie, who was the International Boxing Federation (IBF) World Youth Junior flyweight title and Rodel, a super flyweight. The Suganob brothers are the banner fighters of the PMI Bohol Boxing Stable.
After the onslaught of typhoon Odette in Bohol, Sasing was heavily involved in relief operations even though his house was destroyed by a large coconut tree.
