4 LGBTQ+ members released after posting bail for cyberlibel case

Four members of the LGBTQ+ community in Guindulman town, Bohol posted bail on Wednesday, September 11, after a court issued arrest warrants against them in connection with a cyber libel complaint.

According to Police Corporal Expedito Hinampas, assistant chief investigator of Guindulman Police Station, John Engelbert Liao, Adrian Bersabal, Britt Olaer and Ralph Olandres – all residents of Guindulman, surrendered to Guindulman Police Station at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11.

Acting presiding Judge Rufo Naragas of Regional Trial Court Branch Branch 50 released the arrest warrants against the four suspects.

Guindulman police received the release orders for four suspects at 6:29 p.m on the same day after they posted bail amounting to P10,000 each.

The release order was signed by presiding Judge Perfecto Magallano, Jr.

Although police have not confirmed who filed the cyberlibel case, records show that a former contestant of Miss Guindulman filed the case against the four suspects who tried to dishonor her reputation in the social media.
