Bautista confirmed the sad news in a social media post on Saturday night.
Posting photos of her mother and their family on Facebook, Bautista bade goodbye to her mother, also known as “Tita Ester” to friends and the media.
“Losing a mother is not that easy, especially knowing how Mommy Ester was to me & my kids. To me, she was a perfect Mom. She has always been there for me thru thick & thin. We’ve gone thru a lot together. What I had become & will be, I owe much to her,” Bautista wrote on her Facebook account.

The lawmaker did not disclose any details about her mother’s passing.

“In this time of sorrow, I take comfort In your words of condolences & appreciation for Mommy & your fond memories with her, not realizing how many lives she had touched. The expression of love & support that I received from my family, relatives, friends & even strangers, was simply reassuring. It gives me the strength to keep going. It also gives me the confidence to pursue Mom’s dreams for me. Without Mom, my life’s journey may not be the same, but I’m sure her spirit lives on to guide me every step of the way,” she said.
She thanked those who condoled with her family.
“As I thank everyone for your overwhelming support, let Mom’s untimely passing serves to remind us all of the need to spend more time w/ our parents, for there could never be enough. It’s really hard to let go but God has other plans,” she said.
