The Tagbilaran city government on Saturday opened a drive-thru Covid-19 vaccination site at the city hall ground.

It targeted tricycle drivers, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and residents who do not have access to the different “bakuna” centers.

According to Dr. Jeia Pondoc, city health officer, the goal of the drive-thru vaccination was to make the vaccination program more accessible.

Mayor Baba Yap said vaccination would be key in preventing Covid-19, especially the Delta variant may already be spreading undetected in the province.

At least 150 individuals got inoculated against Covid-19.

The drive-thru vaccination is the first in the province. It can be noted that Tagbilaran City also started the mobile vaccination.
