Bohol Governor Arthur Yap has yet to consult the mayors and health experts if there is a need to extend the closure of its borders.
“Kinahanglan makigkonsulta ta una sa atong mga Mayor. Human sa presscon, kauban ang medical community, there will be a consultation if there is a need, i-extend pa ba nato ang tightened border control. Dili mani lockdown,” said Yap during Capitol’s weekly Zoom conference.
The current lockdown is due to end at 11:59 p. m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31.
The suspension of air and sea travel of passengers bound for Bohol, excluding domestic air and sea travel of cargoes, is due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the province.
Currently, Bohol has a total of 1, 545 active cases.
