Bohol Governor Arthur Yap said Tuesday that there is no news yet on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test results for the 65 repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) quarantined in Bohol.
“Good afternoon, Bohol! No news yet on PCR results for 65 returning OFWs. Thank you!” Yap posted on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon, May 12.
The 65 OFWs arrived in Bohol last April 28. They reached their 14th day of quarantine on Tuesday, May 12, in three facilities in Bohol.
As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, the province of Bohol is yet to receive the confirmatory results for at least 163 swab samples that they have forwarded to the subnational laboratory Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC SNL) on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) testing.
Earlier, Yap said he has no reason to hide the results of the PCR.
Of the 163 swab amples, 65 were from repatriated overseas Filipino workers who arrived in the province last week, 11 medical workers and police and other personnel who had contact with the OFWs and 87 influenza-like illness (ILI) patients from its 48 component local government units.
These OFWs, according to Lopez, are “healthy and active.”
The current DOH protocol to detect infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, uses polymerase chain reaction (PCR) machines.
