Fisherman found dead after spearfishing in Panglao

A fisherman died while spearfishing alone in Barangay Doljo, Panglao town.

Panglao Police identified the fisherman as John Beltran Clemen, 27, resident of Purok 3 in the said barangay.

According to the police report, the victim was found dead at 2 p.m. on Thursday (Aug. 26).

Clemen was reportedly all by himself when he suddenly disappeared in the seawaters off Doljo.

Other fishermen searched for the victim and they found that the victim’s leg was trapped in the rope he also used for fishing.

The Philippine Coast Guard Panglao Sub-station led by SN1 Lyrichel Bryle Ramonida and SN2 Anwar John Sinajon responded to the area where they helped retrieve his body.

Sinajon asked his friends to help the bereaved family. The victim left three small children.
