Former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s remains have been cremated, his sister Kris told members of the media early Thursday evening.
Kris said a mass would be said for Aquino at the Ateneo on Friday. He would be buried at the Manila Memorial Cemetery on Saturday.
Kris also thanked officials and Presidente Duterte government for their help.
Aquino, the only son of the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr and former president Corazon Aquino, served as president from 2010 to 2016 following the death of his mother in August 2009.
He died on Thursday morning of renal failure as a result of diabetes, his family said.
