The Philippine Army’s 47th Infantry (Katapatan) Battalion on Saturday (March 13, 2021) conducted a community outreach program, benefitting some 200 residents, mostly indigents and children in Barangay Barangay Katipunan, Carmen, Bohol.

The outreach program was part of its 40th Founding Anniversary.

In four decades of commitment and selfless service, the unit gave free haircut and circumcision, food feeding and gift giving were given to those living near the camp premises including former rebel beneficiaries brought by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Salary and Loan Association, Incorporated, Juniors Club International – Chocolate Hills and ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative.

There were 65 boys who availed the free circumcision brought by provincial board member Dr. Elpidio Bonita, also the chairman on Provincial Health Committee with the support of Dr. Sharon Tabudlo.

Many of them also benefitted the free haircut offered by the Philippine Army and the 62nd Special Action Company.

Parlor games and static display from the 6th Cavalry Company of Light Armor division were also enjoyed by everyone.

The outreach program aimed to strengthen the good rapport among the populace around the unit’s neighboring sitios and sustaining the avenues between the army and the former rebels. This is also part of the 47IB’s peace campaign with the support from the different stakeholders, may it be government or non-government organizations.

“The 47IB is now on its 40th years of serving God, the country and the people with selfless devotion and dedication. As we celebrate our ruby anniversary, we will intensify our duty to maintain the security of our constituency. We assure everyone that we will be part of the government’s effort in sustaining and developing our economic viability during this pandemic crisis. Your army will stand in attaining goals and solidarity to work towards the national progress,” said Ltc Allan J Tabudlo.

The Philippine Army will not hesitate to provide assistance as they maintain peace not only in the province of Bohol but throughout the country.

The 47IB thanked board member Jone Jade Acapulco Bautista, Valencia Mayor Ma. Katrina Lim, Dr. Isagani delos Santos, the Gift of Life Foundation, Youth for Peace Philippines – Bohol Chapter and local government units.
