CARMEN, Bohol – In a simple change of command ceremony held at Headquarters 47IB, Camp Rajah Sikatuna, Carmen, Bohol on Thursday, May 27, 2021, Lieutenant Colonel Allan Tabudlo, the outgoing battalion commander of the 47th Infantry (Katapatan) Battalion, handed-over the command after completing his almost two years stint to Lieutenant Colonel Allyson Depayso, the incoming battalion commander.
The change of command ceremony was presided by Major General Eric Vinoya, the commander of 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division.
On his message, Tabudlo expressed his sincere gratitude to the almighty for his chance to lead a unit despite the challenges brought by pandemic.
“As I look back on what I did upon taking the job as the battalion commander of 47IB almost two years ago, when I had accepted the insurmountable challenges knowing fully well that the Province of Bohol was declared insurgency- free, ” said Tabudlo.
“In my watch, success was there but we also suffered setbacks. But it did not stop us to endure peace in our area of operation. During my stint, I took the responsibility of keeping the Katapatan Troopers’ spirits high and raising their morale for them to be motivated and steadfast in fulfilling their individual and collective duties. I am thankful for the untiring support I had receive as the battalion commander of 47IB, ” Tabudlo stressed.
He also lauded all the support from the Provincial Government down to the Local Government and other stakeholders of peace as he perseveres his duty to maintain the peace in the province of Bohol.
Meanwhile the incoming battalion commander, Depayso a member of Philippine Military Academy Class of 2001, hails from Baguio City, Benguet. He was formerly assigned in 302nd (Achiever) Brigade stationed Negros Oriental as the Brigade Executive Officer.
“Standing in front of you today entails a new chapter in my career. As anxious and excited as I am to know what lies ahead in this next chapter, rest assured that I have prepared myself to lead on and embark this journey. Assuming command bestows heavier weight on my shoulders, I now carry on both a privilege and a challenge,” Depayso said in his message during the ceremony.
Depayso also expressed his gratitude to Mgen Vinoya for trusting and confidently designating him as the new battalion commander.
The provincial government of Bohol welcomed the new installed commander as Board Member Ricky Masamayor attended the ceremony to represent Governor Arthur Yap.
The change of command is also a challenge for the Katapatan Troopers as the unit embraces a new commander who pledges the continuing support and warm welcome to Depayso.
