Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 has been raised in four areas as Typhoon Bising slightly gained strength, the state weather bureau said Saturday.
According to the latest bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Bising (international name: Surigae) was last spotted 460 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, with slightly stronger winds at 195 kph near the center and gusts of up to 240 kph.
On the other hand, Signal No. 1 is up in Sorsogon, Albay, Eastern portion of Camarines Sur, Eastern Portion of Masbate including Ticao Island, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Camotes Islands, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte including Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands and Surigao del Sur.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said its regional units were already instructed to prepare, especially those in areas affected by the typhoon.
