The strange phenomenon of lightning which appeared on Wednesday night (Oct. 28) during a thunderstorm puzzled residents.
Netizens were quick to share on Facebook that while it was raining hard with lightning and thunder at around 7 p. m., they saw lights of blue, red, orange, green that illuminated the sky.
One netizen said that he saw it on Panglao Island.
“Kuyawa man to kalit ra man ang langit og orange,” the netizen said.
“Nikalit ra jud kog singgit og hala ang langit, ang langit kay naratol ko,” said another netizen.
What netizens saw were power flashes, the high visible and bright arcing from a damaged power line.
A tree fell, hitting the primary line of BOHECO in Barangay Poblacion.
The downed tree caused an outage in Dauis area.
Personnel of BOHECO were working to restore the power to the area.
At this time, it’s not known how long the outage will last.
There’s no alien invasion.
