Pregnant Fraser’s dolphin found dead in Alburquerque town

A pregnant Fraser’s dolphin was found dead at the beach area of Barangay Bahi in Alburquerque town.

According to the Bohol Environment Management Office (BEMO), the dolphin was discovered at 3 p. m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

The dolphin was examined by the response team composed of the technical staff from BEMO and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

During the necropsy conducted by Dr. Jo Marie V. Acebes, Senior Museum Researcher of the National Museum Philippines, the response team found out that it was pregnant.

The fetus was a male Fraser’s dolphin with a length of 40 centimeters.
