Bohecos impose higher power rates to end-users

Bohol Electric Cooperative I and II raised their power rates “due to higher cost of electricity purchased from Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM),” according to their respective announcements in the social media.

Fifty-five days after the super storm Odette snapped power pole and steel towers like match sticks, in record time, the state grid corporation successfully brought back cheaper grid power to Bohol, effectively transferring the responsibility of lighting up households to the three local distribution utilities (DU).

BOHECO restores 25% of its Odette-downed power lines

Thirty-six days into restoration works following the devastation wreaked by typhoon Odette, Bohol Electric Cooperative I (BOHECO I), along with the help of augmentation linemen from the country’s unaffected electric cooperatives has restored 25% of its power poles toppled, bent, broken or uprooted by the storm’s winds.

BOHECO: no target power restoration estimate yet

Faced with the problem of fixing 745 kilometers of lateral powerlines wrought by tropical storm Odette, a local power distribution cooperative in Bohol says they can not give any estimate as to when the full power restoration of their service areas can happen as yet.
