Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco took his oath Monday after being installed as the new Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The election was held during a special meeting with allied lawmakers at the Celebrity Sports Plaza in Quezon City described by allies of Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano “illegal.”
A total of 186 congressmen, or majority of 299 members of the House of Representatives, have elected Velasco as the new Speaker.
