A healthcare worker of Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) in Tagbilaran City is the latest coronavirus cases (Covid-19) in Bohol province.
In a public advisory on Thursday, October 1, Dr. Mutya Kismet T. Macuno, Medical Center Chief II, said that one of the hospital’s healthcare workers tested positive via polymerase chain reaction.
“The staff concerned is currently being quarantined and isolated under close monitoring by our Hospital Epidemiological Surveillance Unit (HESU),” Macuno said.
Contact tracing was undertaken with subsequent screening done.
“An external source of the staff’s contact is being highly considered at the moment,” she added.
She assured the public that the hospital continues to maintain a safe working environment for all its healthcare workers especially those deployed at the Covid-19 Wing.
“Patient safety remains our top priority. We remind the public to continue to observe hand hygiene, physical distancing and wearing of face coverings (masks and shields). Let us remain vigilant and steadfast in our fight against Covid-19,” Macuno said.
