TAGBILARAN CITY- With the idea that Blogging/Vlogging is a way to inspire, empower and educate the world amidst pandemic, the Agricultural Training Institute – VII (ATI-7) conducted a Bloggers’ Forum for information officers (IOs).It was attended by the members of the Association of United Development Information Officers (AUDIO) in Bohol last July 29 and 30, 2020 at Jolit’s Eco Garden in Barangay Cambacay in Batuan town and IYAAH Eco Farm in Barangay San Isidro in city.

The activity aimed to promote the extension services of ATI-7 especially the Learning Sites for agriculture modality while learning interesting platform in communication which is Blogging and Vlogging.

Tapping her expertise on Microblogging, Jhuriz Dugaduga of Bohol Bloggers Collective talked on Blogging Government Development while the renowned founder of Travel 29, Rowell Clenuar taught participants techniques on Vlogging.

Bloggers’ Forum enabled Jomer Balag of Jolit’s Eco Garden and Robert Olaer of IYAAH Eco Farm to showcase their farms and demonstrate agricultural technology they practiced while on farm tour with the attendees. These Learning Sites (LS) are just two out of the 20 active LS in Bohol.Learning Site is a farm that serve as demonstration area for hands-on learning where the farmer as the resource speaker, source of technology, exhibit applicable technologies and farming strategies. It is also a field visit area for other farmers and agri-enthusiasts while making profits.

Facebook“Bloggers’ Forum gives fellow Information Officers (IOs) an opportunity to share our knowledge using a more interesting platform, refining our communication skills when we do or write our blogs and expand our professional network, ” said Fiel Angeli A. Gabin, President of AUDIO Bohol.”We are learning how to appreciate and be engage in agriculture development which we all need for food sufficiency, security and sustainability specially in this time of pandemic,” she added.Attendees were IOs from Pag-ibig Fund, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)- Bohol, Agricultural Promotion Center (APC), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).Likewise, IOs from Tagbilaran City, Bien Unido, Buenavista, Calape, Getafe, Maribojoc, Lila, Garcia Hernadez, Pilar and from Bohol Daily News participated the event.With the knowledge learnt from the forum, participants are expected to come up with a Blog/Vlog.Doris Isabel Racho, ATI-7 Information Officer, was the project officer of the activity together with her support staff Quennie Lou Vistal.
