Local candidates for various positions in the province of Bohol began the first day of campaigning with a Holy Mass on Friday, March 28.
The Holy Mass, held at the St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral Shrine, was led by Bishop Alberto Uy of the Diocese of Tagbilaran.
Bishop Uy invited the candidates, campaign staff, and the community to a Holy Mass for a clean, honest, fair, meaningful, and peaceful election.
In his homily, Bishop Uy warned the candidates against the ill effects of buying and selling votes.
The bishop also encouraged the candidates to work together, not as opponents but as partners and brothers with good intentions for the country.
