Sikatuna town is no longer free from Covid-19.

It recorded its first coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) positive case after four month being under the community quarantine.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon, July 21, Mayor Jecjec Ellorimo said that the first case is a locally stranded individual (LSI).

The LSI arrived in Bohol from Manila last July 7. Its reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR) test was done last July 10, and the result was released on Tuesday, July 21.

“Rest assured that this LSI is quarantined at the LGU Quarantine Facility upon arrival and is now isolated in the LGU Isolation Facility. His closed contacts were also isolated,” said Ellorimo.

As of Tuesday, July 21, Bohol has now 71 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 24 active cases, 44 recoveries and three (3) deaths. Of these, 6 patients were infected due to community transmission.
