The BQ Mall in Tagbilaran City has developed its QR feature which uses QR code technology.

“Here at BQ Mall, we provide our customers with a safer way of shopping. We’ll be using QR codes for contactless and effective contact tracing. Skip the manual contact tracing form fill-up process. Get your unique QR codes now for a quick scan entry to BQ Mall. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy,” BQ Mall said in its advisory on Tuesday, July 21.

It aims to assist the government with contact tracing and complies with all the standard operating procedures set by the government.

Upon entering BQ Mall, a person’s temperature will be taken by a security guard.

The guard will then have to scan a QR code placed near the mall’s entrances using a phone with a QR code reader.

After verification, the person can proceed into the mall.

Those without smartphones or QR code readers can write down their details manually.

Shoppers are also advised to save a copy of the QR code since they will have to show the code each time they want to enter the BQ Mall.

The BQ QR code was in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

On the benefits of using the BQ Mall QR, it is convenient, fast and contactless.

The BQ QR Code helps with crowd management, as shoppers don’t need to queue up outside each shop to fill up a form. They just need to show their QR code.

BQ Mall, which started in 1945, is also the first store in Bohol on Shopee (https://shopee.ph/bqsuperstore.ph) for hassle-free shopping.
