A group of unidentified gunmen opened fire on government troops in Barangay Cambigsi in Bilar town on Tuesday afternoon, July 21, 2020, the military reported.
According to 1st Lt. Elma Grace Remonde, civil military operations officer of the 47th Infantry Battalion (IB), the incident happened at around 5 p. m.
She said the armed men opened fire on the soldiers, from the Army’s 47th Infantry Battalion, on board a military vehicle.
She added that none of the soldiers were hurt.
Tracking and pursuit is on going to the fleeing armed men.
