Some business establishments in Tagbilaran adopted contact tracing measures as part of the “new normal” amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tagbilaran City Square and BQ Mall have required customers to follow strict safeguards against coronavirus while coming to their stores.
Customers need to fill up a “Health Checklist” form for contact tracing.
At the Tagbilaran City Square, guards assigned at the store’s four entrances, point an infrared thermometer “temperature gun” at visitors’ foreheads, they check for the fever that is a telltale symptom of COVID-19 infection. And customers need to step on a foothbath.
Crowds have been far thinner, as low-priced housewares, gadgets and jeans roam the alleys that showcase everything from chic to bling.
The same health protocols followed at BQ Mall.
Ronalyn Villanueva, a 21-year-old resident of Barangay Mansasa, noticed the protocol at the said stores.
She said before the coronavirus crisis she would come almost everyday with her friends.
She was delighted to be back and reassured by the security measures in place.
“This shows they are serious in the fight against the virus and that life will soon return to normal,” said Villanueva, her smile was partially obscured by a facial mask.
Children and people of over 60 or in higher risk groups for the respiratory disease are not allowed in.
