At least 52 repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are expected to arrive in Bohol at 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2020.
According to Dr. Yul Lopez, Bohol’s COVID-19 spokesperson, these 52 OFWs were stranded in Cebu.
Like the first batch of OFWs, they will be quarantined for 14 days.
Gov. Arthur Yap on Thursday said that there were 61 returning Boholanos. Three were part of the 230 repatriated seafarers who would arrive in Cebu on Friday, May 8, 2020.
He said OWWA Cebu also confirmed that they will try to send home at least 58 returning OFWs who have been quarantined in Cebu and tested negative on a PCR Test.
However, the three OFWs from Manila and six from Cebu were not able to travel because of the strict protocol set by the provincial government of Bohol.
Yap has required returning OFWs to have an individual certification of negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests results and completion of the 14 day quarantine and additional Rapid Tests.
At least 48 OFWs stranded in Manila and 17 OFWs stranded in Cebu arrived in Bohol last April 28.
