The municipal government of Calape announced on Wednesday the negative test results of all close contacts of the resident who previously tested positive of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In an announcement on their Facebook page, Mayor Nelson Yu shared this good news after they’ve been informed of this development.
“Basi sa resulta sa swab test, kon PCR test NEGATIBO tanan ang mga close contacts nga atong na identify diri sa atong lungsod human sa gihimo nga imbestigasyon ug contact tracing,” Yu said.
(Based on the result of the swab test or PCR test, all of the close contacts showed negative results following the investigation and contact tracing effort of the municipality.)
The contact tracing effort was done after the 89-year-old patient who died last month tested positive of COVID-19. He was a resident of Barangay Lawis.
According to Yu, Calape town remains “COVID FREE”.
However, he emphasized the need for the residents to still follow the protocols such as social distancing, wearing of face mask, washing of hands, and avoiding mass gatherings.
“Magpabilin sa balay ug walay importanting lakaw (Please stay at home if you have no important things to attend to outside),” he concluded.
