40 LSIs in Calape complete quarantine, rapid test, sent home

A total of 40 Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) were sent home on Friday, June 12 by the local government unit of Calape after completing their mandatory quarantine.

These LSIs also underwent rapid testing before they were sent home.

They were the first batch of LSIs who arrived in Calape last May 29 and were isolated inside the Calape National High School.

Town officials headed by Mayor Nelson Yu, Vice Mayor Sulpicio Yu, and Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Councilors Bella Ancog, Joyce Josol, and Ayen Velos thanked the LSIs for their cooperation while they were on quarantine.

A short send-off program was held inside the school where Mayor Yu also thanked their municipal health staff, donors, and other LGU personnel who helped maintain and took care of the LSIs.

According to the update provided by LGU Calape COVID-19 Response, there remains the second batch of LSIs that they continue to monitor.

The second batch of 50 LSIs arrived last June 9. They are currently under quarantine at the Calape Central Elementary School.

For those stranded Calapenhons who would like to go home, the LGU advises them to coordinate with Claire Mata through her mobile number: 09167717500.

LSIs stranded in Cebu are advised to coordinate with Yvette Dapitilla, LSI Focal Person, through her mobile number: 0909 458 9489.

Those who have already completed the necessary documents needed are advised to send it through the LGU’s email address lsicalape@gmail.com
