A nurse and a nurse attendant who took care of a confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case were the recent addition to the number of cases recorded in Tagbilaran City, Bohol province.

Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap announced this recent development on his Facebook page shortly before midnight on Friday, June 12, 2020.

Yap said the said hospital staff were from a private hospital in the city.

However, he requested not to divulge yet the name of the hospital pending their issuance of an official statement.

Yap said the two hospital staff’s polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test result showed they both contracted the SARS-COV-2 virus that causes COVID-19.

Currently, they are already placed on isolation in the hospital.

“Ang City Government of Tagbilaran mo contact trace gihapon sa family sa duha ka ni positive just to be sure (The City Government of Tagbilaran will do a contact tracing on the family of the two positive just to be sure),” Yap wrote on his post.

Meanwhile, Yap also gave an update on the result of the PCR test on the family members of the 65-year-old woman who tested positive of COVID-19.

According to the local chief executive, their results all came out negative.

Yap again issued a reminder to residents in line with this development.

“Reminder lang nga mag puyo lang gyud ta sa atong mga balay para ma likayan ang Covid-19. Mag mask, hugas sa kamot, distancing, og mag ampo. Stay safe,” Yap added.
