After five years of hiatus, fans of Alexis Calipusan, known world-wide as the “Voice-A-Like of Justin Bieber”, has returned to Youtube for a new cover song.
Calipusan, who hails from Loboc town, became viral in 2015 with his covered hit songs by celebs like Justin and Ed Sheeran that gained attention by US media.
SevenTeen.com wrote that he was “Justin Bieber’s Voice-Twin — He Sounds *Exactly* Like Him When He Sings.”
Huffpost said “The teen girl from the Philippines is giving the Biebs a serious run for his money with her identical acoustic cover of the radio hit “Baby.””
Popbuzz said “Calipusan is 100% Bieber that seriously, you won’t be able to tell the difference.”
He was also featured on GMA 7’s toprating news magazine show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
Calipusan was 18 years old when he combined forces with his friend Cyril Cailing, to create Jam-C. The duo covered “U Smile” and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”
However, the group separated. Calipusan went into hiatus for many years.
On Thursday, May 21, he surprised his fans when he uploaded a new cover of “Stuck with U”, this time with his girlfriend Jay Ann.
