Worries over a probable new Covid-19 case was neutralized today by the send-off of the now-cleared Boholano OFW who earlier tested positive.
Bohol Governor Arthur Yap announced on Thursday that the repatriated Boholano overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was a COVID-19 positive has finally tested negative for the third PCR test, marking his full recovery.
Yap said he received the PCR results at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 21.
“Malipayon nako nga ipahibaw ninyo nga base sa resulta nga atong nadawat, nagnegatibo na siya sa COVID-19,” the governor said in a Facebook post.
Upon his arrival from Manila last April 27, the OFW and others were quarantined in Tagbilaran City for 14 days.
The OFW went home at past 7 p.m. Thursday evening to his hometown.
He was welcomed by his brother.
The recovered OFW was officially the second positive patient listed in Bohol.
The first Covid-19 positive case in Bohol was a Chinese woman who was admitted to a local hospital in Tagbilaran but has since recovered and returned to China before the community quarantine was declared.
