Tubigon barangay put under ‘semi-lockdown’ over probable Covid-19 case

Barangay Pinayagan Norte in Tubigon town has been placed under “semi-lockdown” after a resident was identified as a probable Covid-19 case.

Village chief Esterlita Loresto said that officials have placed barriers at the entry and exit points of the barangay.

They also implemented the one entry, one exit policy.

Loresta said the village with 2,000 population also barred the entry of non-residents.

“Pre-cautionary measures lang mi… nag-meeting man gud mi sa task force unya giapil nila sa meeting. So nagdiscuss mi didto unsaon pag-contact tracing. Naghimo mi contact tracing. But before that nag-closed nako og borders sa mga silingan nga mga barangay para proteksyunan pud nako ang akoang barangay,” said Loresto.

She said that the semi-lockdown is indefinite.

She said one member of the family who has a home quarantine pass will be allowed to go in and out of the barangay including exempted workers, frontliners and those with medical emergencies.

“Hangyu nako sa mga residente nga mo-cooperate jud ta,” she said.

Authorities are monitoring more individuals after a 17-year-old girl who was admitted in a private hospital in Tagbilaran City has been identified as a probable Covid-19 patient after testing positive in a rapid test.

Loresta said some members of the family were already quarantined.

“Normal lang sila kay gipangita nako gabii ang igsuon nahibilin diha. kumusta man mo.. Wala bay changes sa inyong lawas? Wala ba moy sip-on, ubo, hilanat? Wala man daw,” she said.

Dr. Yul Lopez, spokesperson on Covid-19-related matters at the provincial Capitol, said that they are almost done with their contract-tracing efforts in relation to the probable Covid-19 case.

The girl underwent an appendectomy at the Ramiro Community Hospital when she showed signs of viral infection through a rapid antibody test.

The RCH issued an official statement on Tuesday, May 19, that it was able to identify, isolate and screen a probable Covid-19 case.Contact tracing and quarantine procedures have been conducted, it said.

The case and its contacts have been reported to the Bohol Provincial Health Office and the Department of Health-Center for Health Development Region 7 (DOH-CHD 7) and the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU).

Samples for confirmatory testing have been taken and sent to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory (VSMMC SNL) in Cebu City.

The Tagbilaran City-based hospital likewise assured the public that proper disinfection is being done based on stringent protocol set by the ICC and Infectious Disease Specialists.
