BPPO investigates “erring” policeman with no authority to travel while Bohol under ECQ

A policeman who did not have any certificate to travel and other clearances is now the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO).

Police Colonel Jonathan Cabal, director of the BPPO, told Bohol Island News (BIN) that the policeman has no official business in coming to the province in line with his work in the police force.

This is not the policeman who received the backlash of netizens after violating the “No-Sail” policy.

“I don’t tolerate erring police,” said Cabal.

There were two policemen who crossed to Bohol province from Cebu.

Policeman A (name withheld) is a member of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO), while Policeman B (name withheld) is a member of the Philippine National Police – Police Security and Protection Group assigned in Cebu City.

POLICEMAN A HAD AUTHORITY TO TRAVEL

It was Policeman A who had the authority to travel.

He arrived in Bohol after he boarded a boat that arrived in Catagbacan Port in Loon town. He was in Sibonga town in Cebu for schooling.

According to Cabal, since their schooling was cancelled, Policeman A was ordered to go back to Bohol to report.

Cabal issued a certificate to travel to Policeman A last April 6 “subject to other ordinances, laws and related administrative implementing regulations.”

When Policeman A arrived in Bohol, he submitted himself to health authorities. He was even told by barangay health workers to do home quarantine since the barangay has no quarantine area.

However, Policeman B allegedly sneak into the province.

Cabal said they are collecting evidences against him.

Both policemen are residents of Tagbilaran City.

Under Executive Order No. 8-A of Bohol Gov. Art Yap, it emphasized that only health workers, authorized government officers, those traveling for medical and humanitarian reasons, persons providing basic services and public utilities, bank personnel and employees who will replenish cash funds are not covered by the travel restriction.

Bohol is still under enhanced community quarantine until April 30.

Meanwhile, both policemen have been placed under quarantine.

In a Facebook post of the Regional Health Service 7 (RHS7), personnel from City Health Office and SWAT-Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) Bohol “picked” up the policemen from their residences and transported them to the designated isolation area located at Sitio Lanao, Barangay Dao, Tagbilaran City, Bohol on Saturday, April 18, morning.
