At total of 221 stranded Negrenses out of the 438 have safely returned back to the province of Negros Oriental on Saturday, April 18, 2020.
According to the post of the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental Facebook page, this is the first batch of stranded passengers from Cebu that they have allowed to enter the province amidst the enhanced community quarantine being implemented against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Upon recommendation of the IATF, Governor Roel Degamo, allowed the return of these stranded residents, who already completed their 14-day quarantine in one of the schools in Samboan town, provided that their respective LGUs will provide vehicles to pick them up at the port and subject them to another mandatory 14-day quarantine before they are allowed to go home,” the provincial government said in their post.
There were also medical personnel on standby to immediately take swab samples in case anyone is showing or experiencing symptoms.
