Bohol welcomes Bangladesh officials

Relations between the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) and a Bangladesh has moved a notch higher.

The PGBh led by Gov. Aris Aumentado welcomed a delegation from the Bangladesh Local Government Division (LGD) and PRABRIDDHI-swisscontact at the Capitol on Sept. 21.

The delegation was composed of of Project Director and Joint Secretary MD Kamal Hussain, Joint Secretary Kabir Mahmood, Deputy Secretary Farzana Mannan, Project Director and Deputy Secretary Poly Kar, Senior Assistant Secretary A.K.M. Anisuzzaman, PRABRIDDHI–swisscontact Public Sector Management Specialist Rukhen Uddin Ahmed, and Knowledge and Communications Management and Advocacy Officer Naziba Naila Wafa.

PGBh and the visiting delegation discussed possible opportunities to boost tourism and investments, especially in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as envisioned in the Strategic Change Agenda.

At the same time, the joint efforts are aimed at forging better relationships and understanding between the Filipino and Bangladeshi cultures.

Aumentado shared the best practices of PGBh with the guests, especially in establishing a local economic development plan by spreading out opportunities and investment in the whole province.

He added that PGBh has always been open to Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) to implement projects and programs through collaborations and participatory approach planning.

Through a video presentation, the visitors also got a glimpse of the beauty of Bohol, the first and only UNESCO Global Geopark in the Philippines.

Supervising administrative officer Metodio Maraguinot Jr., Bohol Provincial Tourism Office Officer-In-Charge Joanne Pinat, and DTI-Bohol Director Vierna Ligan were also present during the courtesy visit. (PIMO/JSS)
