Yap orders ‘partial’ liquor ban in Bohol

Consumption of liquor in public places shall be prohibited.

The provincial government has imposed a partial liquor ban in Bohol province to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak.

In his Executive Order (EO) No. 17, Bohol Governor Arthur Yap prohibits individuals from going outside of their residence to drink alcoholic beverages in a bid to prevent social gatherings in public spaces or in homes.

Consumption of liquor within the confines of one’s home is allowed provided that only members of the household shall consume and shall strictly observe social distancing.

Homeowners should not also invite guests or visitors for drinking sessions or any other social activities, it added.

Persons under the influence of liquor are prohibited to go out of their residences.

The Philippine National Police and barangay officials are directed to ensure strict implementation of the the new directive.
