A Ukrainian plane crashed Wednesday shortly after takeoff in Tehran, killing everyone on board, Iran’s semi-official ISNA news agency reported.
“Obviously it is impossible that passengers” on flight PS-752 “are alive,” the head of Red Crescent told ISNA, adding that 170 passengers and crew had boarded the plane.
The Boeing 737 had left Tehran’s international airport bound for Kyiv, the agency said, adding that 10 ambulances were sent to the crash site.
An investigation team was at the site of the crash in southwestern outskirts of Tehran, civil aviation spokesman Reza Jafarzadeh said.
The crash came hours after Iran launched a ballistic missile attack targeting two bases in Iraq housing U.S. forces in retaliation for the killing of Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani. with reports from CNN and USA Today
