Authorities are still conducting a follow-up investigation on the killing of an alleged notorious robber in Getafe town.
In an initial investigation by Getafe Police, Laurencio Racal Jr. alias “Jun-jun/Racal”, 43, a resident of Cabasakan in Getafe town was shot dead inside a cockpit arena by an unidentified assailant on Sunday afternoon.
Racal was tending to his rooster at the pitting area inside the cockpit arena in Barangay Poblacion when he was shot twice by an unidentified gunman who immediately fled from the crime scene.
Racal was still rushed to the Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital in Inabanga town but he was declared dead on arrival.
Recovered in the crime scene were two empty shells of caliber .45 and one live ammunition of caliber .45.
Witnesses told police that Racal was surrounded by four armed men who were wearing caps.
According to police, Racal was an alleged member of the Torregosa Robbery Group operating in second district of Bohol.
Their alleged leader Virgelio Torregosa was arrested by Getafe police in a police operation last November 6, 2019.
