A motorist died while on his way home when his motorcycle he crashed, fell off the road and into a canal in Antequera town.

Police identified the victim as Helardo Torculas, 45, a resident of Barangay Poblacion in Antequera town.

According to Staff Sergeant Rolly Robante of Antequera Police Station, Torculas was traversing the national road when the accident occurred at 6 p.m. on Monday.

He reportedly lost control of his motorcycle while passing the curved road in Barangay Tabuan.

He was brought to a hospital in Tagbilaran but he was declared dead on arrival.

Another motorist, Jomar Laurel,19, a resident of Barangay Abihilan in San Isidro town was injured on Sunday night when his motorcycle hit a backhoe parked on the road in Antequera town proper.

Laurel said he didn’t see the warning sign while driving.

In Calape town, a 73-year-old was hit by a motorcycle on Monday afternoon.

The victim identified as Carlos Macellones, a resident of Kinabag-an in Panggangan Island was standing along the road when a motorcycle who overtook a van hit him.

He was injured and was brought to a hospital in Tagbilaran for treatment.
