OPAV Sec. Michael Lloyd Dino described him as one of the “living heroes” that exist in this modern world.
“You are simply a role model to all our uniformed men that even during our rest days, our service remains and that we will always be available for the people who need our help,” Dino wrote on his commendation letter.
Dino added that he looks forward to meeting Barajan to personally congratulate him.

Dino also commended PCG-7 for its quick response during the said maritime incident.
SN1 Barajan, who was off duty at that time, was instrumental in the rescue of the passengers of the vessel that sank after it was hit by big waves while on its way to Sibonga town.
