A 63-year-old woman was hit by a passing motorcycle in Jagna town on Monday morning.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Jason Laurden of Jagna police, Conorata Abucejo, a resident of Barangay Cantagay, was walking on the side of the road when the motorcycle driven by Nestor Namoc hit her.
Namoc reportedly dozed off while driving and didn’t notice that he was already heading towards the direction of the old woman.
After the incident, both were rushed to nearby Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital for medical attention.
But Abucejo, who suffered major injury, had to be late transferred to Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City.
However, the old woman was declared dead on arrival.
Staff Sgt. Laurden said Namoc and the Abucejo family have reached an amicable settlement and no case will be pressed against the driver.
